The Wilson Sexton Foundation, established in 1999, exists to carry forward the generosity and vision of W.B. “Rusty” Sexton, Sr. Guided by his spirit of giving, the Foundation has continued to support organizations and causes that reflect his values of compassion, responsibility, and community.

Our History
Founded in 1999, the Wilson Sexton Foundation was created to extend Rusty Sexton’s legacy of generosity. From the beginning, the Foundation has emphasized thoughtful giving, with donations reaching both local organizations and international initiatives. Under the stewardship of Jean T. Sexton and the Sexton family, the Foundation has continued to expand its reach, ensuring Rusty’s belief in meeting every request with care and attention lives on.
Our Team
The Wilson Sexton Foundation is led by a family board committed to sustaining and expanding Rusty Sexton’s vision. Jean T. Sexton currently serves as President of the Board, a role in which she has been instrumental in shaping the Foundation’s growth and ensuring its charitable focus remains true to its roots.
Alongside Jean, the board includes Susan W. Stone, Jean (Jenny) E. McGowan, Michael L.C. Wray, R. Logan Wray, W.B. (Rusty) Sexton, Jr., and Susan Sexton Horn. Together, they provide thoughtful direction and uphold the family’s shared values of generosity, responsibility, and service.
Operationally, the Foundation meets annually to review charitable opportunities and set priorities for giving. This process allows the board to maintain ongoing commitments, such as scholarships and international aid, while also responding to emerging community needs. The result is an approach that is both principled and flexible, ensuring that the Foundation’s resources create meaningful, lasting impact.
